Projects

Blue Hills

SMG’s Blue Hills (Mungada) Direct Shipping Iron Ore (DSO) project Stage 1 went into care and maintenance in 2015. Stage 2, the Mungada East Extension was approved by the state environment minister and is currently undergoing assessment of mining and environmental plans by statutory bodies (DMIRS & DWER).

Weld Range

Flagship 300Mt high grade DSO Project has achieved all primary approval requirements. The Weld Range project was put on hold in June 2011 until further clarification on the development timeline of a port and rail project at Oakajee can be established.

Jack Hills

SMG Jack Hills projects are located within the Achaean-aged Jack Hills Greenstone Belt approximately 380km north east of Geraldton in the Mid West region of WA. Projects include DSO deposits and Crosslands Jack Hills Expansion Project which is a substantial Magnetite deposit of 3.8 Billion tonnes of Magnetite ore.

Robinson Range

SMG is in the early stages of exploration at its Robinson Range project, approximately 120km north of Meekatharra in Western Australia, which it is exploring for iron ore and manganese potential.

Koolanooka Hematite

SMG’s Koolanooka Direct Shipping Iron Ore (DSO) Project completed operations in 2013 and since has been extensively rehabilitated. SMG’s rehabilitation effort has included teaming up with the Centre for Mine Site Restoration.

Koolanooka Magnetite

The proposed Koolanooka Magnetite project formed the second stage in the development of the Koolanooka resource.
