The National Pollutant Inventory (NPI) is a Commonwealth program whereby companies are required to report emissions to air, land and water on an annual basis. The program aims to provide the community, industry and government with free information about substance emissions in Australia. It has emission estimates for 93 substances and the source and location of these emissions.
SMC developed and submitted its first NPI report to the Federal Government in 2010, in line with the commencement of the Koolanooka/Blue Hills project.
