Senior Environmental Adviser

Due to our current growth plans, we require an experienced environmental professional to take charge of environmental compliance and approvals work over exploration, mine project development, mining and mine rehabilitation and closure activities in the Midwest.

 The role

  • Deliver timely approvals for mining projects and exploration activities
  • Manage approvals plans to ensure project deadlines are met and stakeholders are kept informed on progress
  • Manage all aspects of compliance requirements and ensure necessary licences and approvals are maintained along with regulatory reports
  • Monitor and provide advice on relevant environmental matters as they arise
  • Manage environmental and reporting activities on sites, some site travel will be required.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure all approvals are gained prior to deadlines
  • Maintain and promote a safe working environment every day and in all that we do

What you bring

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Environmental Science, or related field
  • 8+ years’ experience working within an environmental approvals role in the mining industry
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the regulatory regime and legislation relevant to your role
  • Understanding and experience with mine rehabilitation and closure
  • Extensive experience with environmental management system development, implementation and compliance
  • High level of computer skills, with exposure to GIS or similar mapping software highly beneficial
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
